Crucible — Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026 · Version 0.1 (Beta)
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service and applies to every user of Crucible. We may update it, suspend accounts that violate it, and remove offending content. Capitalized terms have the meaning given in the Terms.
1. Lawful basis for data you upload
You may only upload or import Customer Data that you have the right to collect and to have Crucible process. You are responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consents that the law requires of you as the controller of that data, including under U.S. state privacy laws and Canada's PIPEDA. Do not upload data you obtained in violation of a third party's terms of service or by unlawful scraping.
2. Beta geographic restriction
During the beta, Crucible is intended for United States and Canada data only. Do not upload or process personal data about individuals located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the EEA. Crucible has not yet implemented the GDPR transfer safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) required for that data.
3. Prohibited data
Do not upload:
- Government identifiers (Social Security numbers, passport numbers, driver's license numbers), financial account or payment card numbers, or health data, unless expressly supported by a feature and necessary.
- Special or sensitive categories of personal data beyond what a recruiting workflow legitimately needs.
- Data about children under 16.
4. Prohibited conduct
Do not:
- Use the Service to make or support unlawful employment decisions or to discriminate against candidates on the basis of a protected characteristic.
- Send outreach that violates anti-spam laws (such as CAN-SPAM or Canada's CASL), including messages without a lawful basis or a working opt-out.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service; breach or circumvent authentication, rate limits, or per-firm isolation; or attempt to access another firm's data.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the Service's models or source, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Upload malware, or use the Service to store or transmit infringing, defamatory, or unlawful content.
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as a service bureau without our written consent.
- Use automated means to extract data from the Service beyond the provided export and API features, or use the Service to build a competing product.
- Overload or interfere with the Service's infrastructure or other users' use.
5. AI use
Verify AI output before relying on it. Do not present unverified AI inferences as confirmed facts to clients or candidates, and do not use AI features to generate deceptive, harassing, or discriminatory content.
6. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or report unlawful activity to authorities. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you, except where doing so is unlawful or would compromise security or an investigation.
